Donald S. Smith*

  • President Perfection Stove Company

My success story was a combination of ambition, ability, and opportunity.

At the age of 12, Donald Smith found a job as a delivery-wagon driver for $3 a week. In 1910, he started working at the Perfection Stove Company as a clerk, earning $9 a week. He overcame poverty and humble beginnings through effort, diligence, and self-reliance. In 1950, Smith was named president of the Perfection Stove Company.
